Alert Frequency option is a part of the Reporting module of the Shield Security plugin.


You can use it to decide when you should be sent important and critical alerts about your site security.


The all scans actions will be included in the Alert report.


To set the alert frequency, simply select the frequency you’d like for the report, and click to Save:

How does the Alert Frequency work?

To explain how this option works, we'll use an example.


Let's say you'd like to receive email alerts every hour, and you have scans turned on.


Scans detected within an hour

  • Abandoned plugins (x1)
  • Modified plugin files (x2)
  • Modified WP core files (x1)
  • Modified root .htaccess and wp-config.php files


You'll get email alert report about these files, and email subject will be [Your Site Name] Site Report - Shield.


Report will look like this:

In the next hour, scans detect

  • Malware file (x1)
  • Vulnerable plugin files (x7)
  • WP core files (x2)
  • Unrecognised files (x11)

Also, if you have set scans to auto repair/delete/update files, this will be included in the report. For example:
